Hi, I’m BeeGee! I’m a super sweet, wiggly girl who has absolutely blossomed in foster care! I’m housebroken, crate trained, sleep through the night, take treats gently, and have been working hard on my leash skills and house manners. I love going for walks, running around a fenced yard, chasing a ball, and spending time with my people. I’m always thrilled to meet new friends, although I’m still learning how to contain all that excitement! My biggest challenge is other dogs—I can become very excited and reactive when I see them, so my foster family has even worked with a trainer to help me. My reactions have not been aggressive, but I am strong and will need a family committed to continuing my training and managing me around other dogs. At home, though, my foster says I’m an absolute superstar! I’d love an active home where I can be your one-and-only pup, preferably with a fenced yard where I can run, play, and show off my signature happy wiggles.
BeeGee is available through the York SPCA and her adoption fee is $160. She comes fully vetted, spayed, and of course FREE lifetime training assistance.

We have been working with Ms. BeeGee's excitement around other dogs as her primary training. BeeGee tends to get overwhelmed with emotions when she sees one of her pals close up. Far away situations are fine, she more or less gives a head nod and we are on our way. Close contact is different. BeeGee wants to be on her friends or try to clean them as a hat. While it is funny the other dogs wonder what her deal is. So we are using her ball & cookie treats to curb her enthusiasm if you will, LOL.

BeeGee is being tasked with controlling her excitement. We are focusing on keeping all four of her paws on the ground when she is excited for things like other dogs, cookie treats, & toys when we are playing. Sometimes a hand can be collateral damage if it is holding a tennis ball & the owner of that hand. So I have been using an orange in place of the ball. One because it looks like a Chuckit ball & two because she isn't real fond of the taste of the orange... It seems to be working, LOL.

Bee Gee is such an enjoyable dog to be around. She is always in a great mood & that helps me out when I start feeling down. She is great for emotional support & loves to cuddle. She likes to bury her head into you when she snuggles. It is almost like she can't get close enough to you. She is a perfect companion for humans AND other dogs.

BeeGee went for a couple of adventures this week. On Friday she went on a walk to some of the offices with her pals Peeps & Bluey. She had a great time meeting new people & exploring new places. Her & Peeps were playing & mixing it up the whole time. On Wednesday she went with staff to a seminar with Bluey & Peeps again. They all got a lot of attention & they were enjoyed by all! Maybe she will have some interest in her... or I may just keep her!

BeeGee is doing QUITE well here so far. She has made fast friends with Peeps! They have a similar style of play & adapt very well to one another. They interact like they have known each other their whole lives. She has shown interest in Wyatt but he approaches her with caution as she tends to come in a little hot. It is funny how she can go from dead asleep to full tilt!

BeeGee is adjusting well. She is a fun and energetic dog that has made some dog friends fast. She has already enjoyed a walk around the compound and met staff. She will be a good addition to the current crew of dogs. She has a big appetite and loves to play fetch and run the fence with Peeps.

BeeGee joined the HOPE family today and we're just as excited as she is to watch her meet her full potential!!
