Achilles

Achilles

Meet Achilles! CPAA rescued him from death row at Philly ACCT. He’s a sweet, handsome Treeing Walker Coonhound mix, with the most soulful eyes. He weighs about 55 pounds.

Achilles loves to play with squeaky toys and lounge on his back in his bed. He loves to “hug” you with his paws.

Achilles lost his foster home because he barked at strangers. His foster parents were unwilling to work with our trainer. So, Achilles is now sitting in a kennel waiting for someone to open their heart and home to give him another chance–someone who is willing to work with our trainer to help Achilles get accustomed to his new surroundings.

Achilles is a very friendly two or three-year-old and walks well with a chest harness. He is food motivated and accepts treats very nicely. Achilles is tolerant of other dogs and with slow introductions could live peacefully with another dog. Achilles has lived peacefully with a cat. He would do best in an adult-only home. Achilles is head-shy when he first meets new people, so there can be no quick movements around his face or head, initially. Our trainer can assist with helping Achilles adjust and overcome this fear.

Achilles is a super happy guy with a warm heart, who needs a loving home! Might it be with you?

Only adopters within a 40 mile radius from Harrisburg will be considered.
