Ellie Mae is an approximately 1 year old terrier mix, around 28lbs. She's got boss girl energy and loves everyone she meets! She's great with other dogs, although she can come on a little strong at first. She previously lived in a foster home with other dogs, cats, and regularly went on adventures where we encountered lots of people, from babies to seniors and did well with all of them. We do know that she doesn't want to share her food bowl, bones, or stuffed Kongs with other dogs, but will happily relax in her crate until she's finished them.
Ellie Mae is sponsored by Furry Friends Network, Kennel License #5011 and her adoption fee is $425.

Well this week has been a busy week for Ellie Mae. She has played with Phoebe off leash for the first time. They did great together, no issues at all. She also has played with Booker and Shadow on leash. And they also did great! She outran Shamrock on the gate LOL. She’s awesome!
I have been playing and also training her to do new commands, like high five. She’s a quick learner! She is ready for someone to take her home, no problems whatsoever. She knows all her stuff. A bundle of energy, so you better be ready to have FUN!

Ellie has been doing well. She has been playing with all the dogs. She ran the gate with Shamrock. She played with Shadow, Phoebe, Dina, and also Booker. She’s come a long way! She has learned to adjust to the atmosphere really well. No struggles – all she needs is for someone to take her home and enjoy her energy!

Ellie had a very wonderful week. So she had a nice meal. She ate my two pieces of chicken I left unattended. Then she chewed the rest of my bowl, LOL. So that’s what Ellie did this week besides playing. She has been doing well on reaching her milestone. She also has learned a lot from Dina, her buddy. She still is trying to get her heel on point. But other than that she’s fine – that’s my girl!
2/28/2025
Ellie is doing good, as she has been playing with Dina a lot. She also has learned “the stalking walk” from Dina. She loves to give Booker kisses every morning too. Besides that, she loves to run in the dog yard. I wish we could take them out the block for more space for her to play and walk.
Ellie gets gold stars for doing very well with her training, she has certainly come a long way since she first came to the program! To be honest, she doesn’t really struggle with much, she is just a bundle of joy and ENERGY!

Ellie has been very busy this week – she has been playing with Dina! And she also has been lap dancing all over the day room, LOL! But her best act was when she ate 7 inches of my ruler! She has been doing GREAT with everyone. She has come a long way. I love Ellie very much. Still working on heel with her but other than that, no issues, no problems, no concerns!
2/14/2025
Well this week Ellie played in the snow with Dina! She also went out for a walk last week. Also, she played with me for about an hour! She is doing very good with everything. She gets along with everyone – no problems at all. She is still pulling on loose leash, she tries on heel, but other than that, no issues…I’m still working with her!
2/7/2025
Ellie had lots of fun this week! She went out for a walk to F block. She behaved herself very well and she walked next to Booker and Phoebe with no issues! She had no problems with any of the inmates giving her treats and playing with her.
I’m playing with her more in the cell, wrestling and she was chewing my hair – at no time did she become aggressive. NO struggles. She’s doing great and she would be a beautiful dog to adopt!
1/31/2025
Ellie has been playing more off leash with Dina. Me and her also been rumbling for at least an hour in separate play time. She is doing well and no more rice & beans and chicken. Strictly diet time, LOL!
She is more frequent with her commands – sit, down, stay, lap, come, kiss, paw, let’s go! Heel is still a work in progress, but other than that nothing is keeping her from being adopted!
1/24/2025
So this week Ellie Mae has done very well playing in the snow with Hailey and also with Dina. She also tried to handle the cold, but her paws started to get cold! So she wanted to come back in LOL.
Between the other handler and myself, we’ve been showing her how to sit pretty and stand on her back legs for a little longer. Still working on heel, but nothing is keeping her from being adopted.
1/17/2025
Ellie Mae has been doing very well playing OFF LEASH with Dina. She also has been doing some exercises with another handler. He’s been joining me and Ellie outside and learning new things. I have been practicing with Ellie to sit pretty and she’s doing ok so far. She’s coming along with heel. No struggles. Nothing is keeping her from being adopted!

Well, Ellie Mae had a wonderful week – she played in the snow! But she has also been playing with Dina OFF LEASH. I think she does very well with all the dogs except Shamrock – maybe in time!
She’s doing very well with her training…and she listens very well also. No struggles. Still working on heel and she is doing better!
1/3/2025
So Ellie Mae likes to eat DIRT and play in the MUD. She also likes to eat the squeaky out her toys! Also, we like to end our daily routine with a nice 30 minutes of play, fighting to calm down some of her energetic and outgoing body LOL.
She is starting to play tug with me a little more. We are still working on heel with her. But other than that, she is doing really good!
12/20/2024
This week Ellie played out on the mud – she loves the mud! I also learned if she doesn’t recognize you or wear black or a hat she barks at you LOL.
She’s doing very well on her commands – sit, stay, wait, paw, let’s go, load up, off, find it. She really is a SMART little lady! We’re still working on heel, but other than that everything is great…no problems whatsoever.
12/13/2024
This week she played in the cold and then started digging holes and eating dirt. Then on Thursday I took her out to pee and the wind picked up and she peed on the air LOL!
She is still being active and learning new commands like “let’s go” and “beso” (means “kiss” in Spanish) – she’s good! As of now there are no struggles – just still working on side to side and heel.
12/6/2024
Well as you know, Ellie Mae likes to dig holes and eat dirt. I also found out she likes to eat toilet paper! And rugs LOL! But besides all that she enjoys the snow very much.
So far everything is going well. She learns more things as time goes by. I’m trying to show her “let’s go” and “high five.”
I think she’s doing great so far and Ellie Mae is a very wonderful dog to have. Still working on heel. And her health is good – no concerns!
11/29/2024
This week Ellie went out for a walk and she did VERY well around other people… I would say a little shy, but good. Now she’s starting to dig up holes and sniffing…don’t know why, but she does!
As of the past couple days, she is learning how to catch her treats. To be honest, she’s getting better by the day! We’re still trying with heel, but she’s a bundle of energy so we are working on it little by little. Nothing is keeping her from being adopted!
11/22/2024
This week Ellie Mae was introduced to Shamrock, but it’s too early for them to try and play around. She also met someone from the kitchen, who seems really interested in Ellie. He said he would get in contact. Everything else is still the same. She learns more day by day. I’m still working on commands, but she already knows sit, off, paw, kiss, loadup, stay, and let’s go!
I’m trying to have her walk with me and train her with the leash. That’s my struggle – other than that, nothing is keeping her from being adopted!
11/15/2024
This week Ellie played with all the dogs. She also had a playing threesome with Booker and Phoebe! She’s a GREAT dog. She sits on my lap every morning while I’m drinking coffee – and YES, she likes to explore when you’re not watching, LOL.
So far I have showed her a couple new things. I am happy on how fast she learns her stuff – paw, loadup, lap, stay, kiss, off. Still working on a couple things, like heel and leash training. Other than that – she’s good!
11/8/2024
Ellie Mae is a bundle of JOY! She played outside with Hailey, and also ran with Dina and Booker. So far she is doing well. I haven’t had any issues with her. She’s getting along with all the dogs.
As of this week Ellie Mae has learned a couple of new commands, such as kiss, paw, load up, off, and stay. So far there’s nothing that is keeping her from being adopted. She is very smart and learns quickly. My only struggle is (and I’m working on it) leash walking. She likes pulling a lot!
Her behavior is awesome – I have no doubt about it! And her health is great…she’s energetic and fun!

Ellie Mae joined the HOPE Program this week and we look forward to watching her learn all the things that will help her become the best family companion you could ask for!
